Zombie Forum Set
What you will need to complete this tutorial. Paint Shop Pro - I am working in X2, but this should be achievable in any version. Tube and Image of Choice - I am using the work of Daniel Esparza which is licensed through CILM. To use his work you must obtain and license ands buy your tubes from them. Halloween Accents or tubes of choice - mine came with my PSP. Mask of choice - I used Becky Mask 23 Font - Halloween Regular
Let's get started Open a new image 600 x 250 pixels and flood fill with white. Add a new raster layer and flood fill with a dark colour from your tube/image. Apply your mask to this layer. Move the mask slightly to the left , duplicate and mirror. Go to Effects, Texture, Weave and apply with the following settings:-
You should now have something like this:-
Now take your preset shape tool set to rectangle, line width 15.00 foreground colour a colour from your tube, background nil. Draw out a narrowish rectangle across the bottom of your tag, it should take up just under 25% of the depth of the tag, and be almost its entire width. Align, Horizontal Centre in Canvas.
Convert to a Raster Layer. Now find your triangle preset shape, and with the same line width and colour, draw out a triangle the same width as your rectangle, and almost the height left in your tag....leave a small gap between the base of the triangle and the top of the rectangle. Merge the rectangle and triangle layers together.
Using your magic wand , click inside the rectangle and triangle shapes, expand the selection by 2. Add a new Raster Layer and drop it below the shape. Copy your image and then paste into the selection. Select none. Duplicate this layer and on the top layer add a gaussian Blur of 3. Change the blend mode of this layer to soft light. Merge these two layers together, then change the blend mode of this layer to Luminance (L).
Drop shadow the shape layer. Copy and paste your tube onto the image and drop shadow. Add any Halloween type accents you wish to add. I just added the cat from the Halloween Tubes that came with my PSP. Drop shadow as necessary. Now add your name to the tag, add the copyright, license number where needed and your taggers mark if used. Your tag is now ready to save in whatever format you prefer. I tend to save mine as png's so that I don't have the white background.
For the avatar - open a new image 150 x150. Add a new layer and fill with the same colour as you used for the mask in your tag. Apply the mask as before, duplicating and mirroring if necessary. Draw out a triangle to reach to the bottom corners of your avatar, and apply the texture effect as before. With your magic wand, select the inside of the triangle and then expand the selection by 2. Invert the selection. Copy and paste your tube and position as you like it under the triangle. Hit the delete button to get rid of any excess tube. Play around with the blend modes and choose the one you think suits your tag best. Add your name and the copyright. Save as before.
