Xero Christmas
Rio Xero Christmas

What you will need for this tutorial.

Paint Shop Pro, I am using X2 but this tag can be made in most versions.

Tube of Choice. I am using the stunning work of Al Rio. His work is licensed through CILM and both tubes and license have to be purchased from them.

Corel Christmas Collection tubes - Here

Filters - Xero Fritillary, Artworx, and Artgrain

Mura Meister - Copies

Font of choice, I am using Christmas Card .

Let's get started

Open a new image 600 x 600 pixels at 72dpi and flood fill with white.

With your preset shape set at rectangle, background colour a medium shade from your tube, foreground white, line width 5, draw out a rectangle approximately 150 height x 500 width and centre in canvas.

Convert to a raster layer and drop shadow at 2,2,60,4 colour black.

Click on the colour rectangle with your magic wand to select the coloured area, then add xero fritillary with the following settings:-

Fritillary Settings

Selections , none,

Change your background layer to a lighter shade form the same colour palette and draw another rectangle about 400 wide x 200 high and centre in canvas. Drop shadow as before.

Go to Xero Artworx and apply as follows:-

Artworx Settings

Making sure the rectangle layer is active, Select All, Float then Defloat. Copy and paste your tube and position into the rectangle to suit, invert the selection and hit delete to get rid of excess tube.

Change the Bland Mode of the layer to Soft Light

Using the holly tube from the Corel Christmas tubes, position a holly leaf in the centre of your canvas. Resize to suit your tag, duplicate, mirror and position as in the screen shot below:-

Holly Position

Now apply Mura Meister Copies with the following settings:-

Mura Copies

Drop shadow the holly frame as before, repeat changing the Horizontal and Vertical to -2.

Now, make your background layer active, and with your preset shape set to circle, background colour a pale green to match the holly leaf, draw out a circle slightly bigger than the holly frame and centre in the canvas. Add a Gaussian Blur of about 8.00.

Now apply Xero Artgrain with the following settings:-

Artgtain Settings

Copy and paste your tube and position to either the right or left of the tag to suit. Add a drop shadow as required.

Add a few Christmas Parcels if required just to finish off the tag. I used the tube from the Corel Christmas tubes.

Using your font of choice, foreground white, background the colour you used for your first rectangle, line width 1.00, add your name and position at the bottom of the tag. Add a drop shadow to suit.

Now crop any excess white from your tag and resize if required.

Now add the artist's copyright, your license number where required, and any taggers mark you use.

Save as either a jpeg or png as preferred.
