Witchy Beauty
What you will need to complete this tutorial. Paint Shop Pro - I am working in X2, but this should be achievable in any version. Tube of Choice - I am using the stunning work of Ismael Rac. Ismael's work can only be used if you purchase a license and tubes from AMI. Filters - Tramages, Tow the Line and Metal Peacocks (can also be found in Filter Factory ) Font - I used Halloween Regular.
Let's get started Open a new image 600 x 600 pixels and flood fill with white. Take your preset shape tool set to rectangle, foreground colour nil, background black , and starting at co-ordinates 50,100, draw out a rectangle about 200 pixels wide, 400 high. Align - Vertical Center in Canvas . Convert to a Raster Layer. Apply Tramages , Tow the Line with the following settings:-
I am using mine through Filters Unlimited so your screen might look a bit different to the above. Now take your preset shape - ellipse and set it to circle. Using a background colour from your tube draw out a circle slightly smaller in height than your rectangle. Apply the Tramages Metal Peacocks Filter to this layer with the following settings:-
Position the circle so that your tag now looks something like this:-
Change your foreground colour to the one you used for your circle, background nil, draw out another circle with line width 20 just so that it frames your circle. Convert it to a raster layer and add an Inner Bevel :-
Drop shadow the frame layer. On your circle layer, Select all, float, defloat then invert selection.Copy and paste your close up as a new layer over the circle, and making sure the tube layer is active, hit the delete button to get rid of any overhanging tube. Apply Effects, texture Effects , Blinds as follows:-
Change the opacity of this layer to Luminance (L) and reduce the opacity to about 75. Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, and position and size to your liking. Add a drop shadow. Now add some of the Halloween Tubes supplied by Corel. Add each on a new layer so that you can move them about independently as you require. I changed the blend mode on my pumpkins to hard light. I also added the bats and the cat. On the bats right click on the layer in the layer palette, go to layer properties,Layer Styles, and add an outer glow:-
Alternatively you could add a Gradient Glow using Eye candy. Add a new raster layer above the background layer and flood fill with the same colour as you used for your circle. Apply a mask of choice. I used Becky Mask 23. I duplicated mine, then mirrored and flipped it to give it more depth. Now add some sort of text with Witchy or Halloween type message around your frame - to the right hand side. I put "Witches Convention - All Welcome. I used a font called Halloween Regular. Add your name in the same font, but adjust the size to suit your preference. I added the same Inner Bevel as before, and then drop shadowed it as well. Crop any excess white and resize your tag as required. Add the copyright ,license number if required and your taggers mark. Now save as either a jpeg or png whichever you prefer.
