Whisper On The Wind

Whispers In the Wind

A simple tutorial made entirely from effects within Paint Shop Pro.

Supplies needed:-

PSP - I am using PSPXI but this will work in most versions.

PSP Tube - The one I used is by Jennifer Janesko,www.janesko.com, and is licensed through CILM. You may not use her images without the appropriate license. Licenses and tubes can be obtained at CILM .

Word Art - I made mine and it is available Here.

Font of choice. I used Old English which came with my Windows XP..

Open your word art, tube and font and minimise them until needed. Remember to save your work often so that if your program or pc crashes you do not have to start from the beginning again. The tutorial appears to be quite long, but that is mainly because I have included a lot of screen shots to help you.

To create the tag in the this tutorial you need to first do Tutorial 15 .(Teaching Tutorials)This will give you the basic unanimated version of the tag.

We are going to animate just selected areas of the tube, using the Magic Wand. Set the wand with the following settings:-

selection settings

make your top tube layer active and zoom in on your image :-

Zoom

Now click into the areas of the tube you wish to be animated. I chose the earring and halo in my tube. Be careful not to include the flesh or hair within your selections:-

selected areas

Now duplicate the tube layer twice and x out the copies, make sure the selections are still selected.

Now go to Adjust, Add Noise:-

add noise

Apply this with the settings as below:-

noise settings

Gaussian 40 with Monochrome ticked.

Now apply the noise to the other two layers changing the noise% to 50 and 60 respectively. Selections -None.

You should now be ready to take your image to Animation Shop to complete the animation.

Make sure that only the first of the noise layers is open. make the background layer active then right click into your image and copy merged:-

copy merged

Now right click into your Animation Shop workspace and Paste As New Animation:-

paste new

Now x out the bottom layer and open the second layer. Copy merged again and then right click into the first frame in Animation Shop and paste after current layer:-

paste after current

Now repeat the process making sure that only the top noise layer is open and that you click into the second frame before pasting. You should now have three frames in Animation Shop.

Go to view, View Animation:-

view animation

If you are happy with your animation, go to File - Optimize:-

optimize

If your settings have been set, just press click on each of the boxes. If you are not happy with the final optimization, go to Edit, Undo optimization and check your settings. Once happy save your image as a gif and your tag is complete.
