This tutorial is written by me using an image from Artmam.com. Any similarity to other tutorials is coincidental .

Supplies Needed:-

Paint Shop Pro

Tube of choice- check artist's tou before using your tube for this tutorial as the overall effect changes the colour of the image. A fractal or texture of choice. I have included the one I used Here.

Simple Filters - Top Left Mirror - Here

DSB Flux Linear Transmission - Here

VM Natural Zoom Blur - Here

Font of Choice - A fat chunky font works best with this tutorial I used - Aspartame . I think this is a pay font so I am unable to share it

Please remember to save your work often as you go through the tutorial. There is nothing worse than losing everything if your PSP freezes or crashes when you are almost done. Also if you like to rename your layers as you go along, please do so. Op

OK, select your font and open it so that it becomes available to use within PSP. Install any of the filters you needed to download. (Remember to restart PSP after installing filters as they will not work otherwise.) Open your tube and fractal or texture.

Open a new image about 600x600 and flood fill white. Using your preset shapes tool- set to square, foreground colour to match your tube, I used #2B705E, create a square approximately 200 pixels.

square Settings

First Square Position

When you are happy with this square's size and position, convert it to a Raster Layer. Now find your Simple Filters, and apply Top Left Mirror:-

Top Left Mirror

Click on Ok, and you should now have four evenly spaced squares on your canvas. using your magic wand, Tolerance and Feather set at 0, click inside the top left square, then Modify and expand your selection by 2 . Copy and paste your Fractal Image tube as a new layer and position in the square to your liking. Selections invert, and on the image layer hit delete, to remove any excess e. Drop this layer below the squares layer. Repeat this for each of the other squares, choosing a different section of the image in each square. Merge all four images.

Go back to your green squares, and click your magic wand in the top left square again . Expand by two, then copy and paste your tube , arrange to your liking, invert the selection and delete to get rid of any excess tube. Apply the Simple Top Left Mirror Filter to this tube layer.

Now open your squares layer, and merge the tubes and squares together. You should now have something like this:-

1st Stage Complete

Duplicate your squared image layer and x out the duplicate. On the original layer apply DSB Linear Transmission and use the following settings :- Slice Size 4, Offset 15, Blend 50, Horizontal checked:-

DSB Linear Transmission

Set the blend mode of this layer to Hard Light. Duplicate the copy layer apply VM Natural Zoom Blur with the following settings:-

Zoom Blur

Amount 23, Adjust 47. Set this layer to Hard Light . Close off your background layer and Merge Visible. Reduce the opacity of this layer to around 80.Your image should now be looking something like this:-

Second Stage

Now , go back to your preset shapes and find the diamond. Draw out a diamond as a vector layer, using the same colour and width as you did for the squares. Align center, and then convert to a raster layer . Click into the centre of the diamond with your magic wand, same settings as before. Copy and paste your fractal image/texture as a new layer , selection invert, hit delete and remove the excess. Drop this below the diamond layer. Leave selected. Now copy and paste your tube as a new layer , move it around so that the part of the image you wish is central in the diamond. Hit delete again to get rid of the image outside the diamond. Reduce the opacity of this tube layer to about 85, so that the image below just begins to peep through. On the diamond layer add a drop shadow of choice. I used V&H 1, Opacity 100, Blur 1, then reaped with V&H at -1. Close off all bar the three diamond shaped layers, then merge the diamonds. Leave the white background layer x' d out, and merge all the other layers visible.

Stage Three

If you have any excess white, now is the time to crop it and then resize your tag to the size you prefer. I resized mine by 75%, all layers checked, to bring it down to around 450 x450 pixels. If your merged layer appears top have lost a little of its definition, sharpen once or twice.

Now find your text tool, and the chunky font you have picked for your tag. Use your colour from the square and diamond for the fill, and black for the stroke.

Font Settings

Add your name and position to your liking. I placed mine at the bottom of the tag. Convert your text to a raster layer , then using your magic wand, click inside each letter. Then apply and inner bevel with the following settings:- Bevel 2, Width 10, Smoothness and Depth 2, Ambience and Shininess 0, Colour White, Angle 315, Intensity 50, Elevation 30:-

Inner Bevel

Selections - Select None. Add the same drop shadow as you did to the diamond. Now add the copyright layer for the tube you have used. Also if you have used a fractal or image that needs recognition add that as well. If you use the image I have supplied , please add Render courtesy Peachies Designs and Tutorials.

Save your image as a psp image in case you wish to return to it, then merge all layers and save as a jpeg.
