Summer Breeze

What you will need for this tutorial:-

Paint Shop Pro - (PSP) any version, mine was done in X2

Animation Shop (AS)

Tube/Tubes of choice - I am using the awesome work of Gennadiy Koufay. Gennadiy's work is licensed through CILM and you must purchase tubes from them to be able to use them.

My Footprint Shape - Here

Filter - Mosaic Toolkit available Here

Font of Choice - I used Milktop Girl

Let's get started :-

Open a new image 600 x 250 pixels at 72dpi, flood fill with white.

Copy and paste one of your tubes onto the canvas. gaussian blur at 15 and move to one side of the canvas. Duplicate and mirror. Duplicate both these until you have enough to cover the canvas. Merge visible.

Duplicate this layer and on the duplicate add Mosaic Toolkit as follows:-

Mosaic Toolkit

I used the "Quilt" setting.

Add Noise - Uniform at 25, Monochrome ticked:-

Noise

Copy and paste your tubes and position to the right of your canvas. Crop to size and change the blend mode to screen

Now copy and paste the footprint which I supplied and position to the right ( see my tag for placement ). Change the blend mode on this to dodge.

Now copy and paste your main tube and position to the left of the canvas. Crop to size and add a light drop shadow.

Using your freehand selection tool, pick out wispy strands of the hair, this works better with thin strands.

Hair Selection

Keep selected and duplicate your tube twice, giving you three layers.

On the bottom layer, go to effects, distortion effects, pinch and apply at 23:-

Pinch

Apply this to the other two tube layers at 35 and 53 respectively.

Duplicate the background layer you added noise to and bring this to the top. Select all, contract by 8, then hit delete.

Select all, float, defloat and then go to effects, 3d effects ,cut-out:-

cut out

Add your name, then your artist copyright, license number where required, and taggers mark if used.

With the bottom tube layer open, right click into the image and copy merged.

Take this to AS and paste as a new animation. This is your frame 1.

Back in PSP, close off the bottom tube, and open the middle one. Copy merged again, then right click into your frame 1 and paste after current frame.

In PSP , close off middle, open top tube layer, copy merged, then right click into frame 2 and paste after current frame.

You should now have three frames in AS.

Click into frame 1 and press ctrl + A to select all, then right click into the frame and choose frame properties.

Change the value to 25, then save your tag as a gif.
