Tutorial 5 ASetting Your Resolution One of the things you will see on many artist's tou (terms of use), or with the tou of the licensing companies is that resolution of your tags must not exceed 72dpi. This resolution gives a good picture whist displayed on the net, but is not good enough for print purposes. This tutorial will show you how to set your preferences in both Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop so that your tags are at this resolution. In Paint Shop Pro go to File, Preferences, General program Preferences:-
A box will appear with a list down the left hand side. Click on Units:-
Then set the Default Resolution to 72 pixels/inch. Click on OK and now every time you open a new image in your program the resolution will be shown as 72dpi:-
Always remember to check this setting if you have been using a script, or papers from a scrap kit which might be set at a higher resolution. Most of the time, the images you put into Animation Shop will have been created by you in Paint Shop Pro and will therefore be at the correct resolution. If you are using other images go to File, Preferences, File Formats:-
Click to open up a new box:-
On the Post Script Tab set the resolution to 72dpi and click OK. Your programs will retain these settings normally, but it is always wise to check them from time to time.
