RED HOT PASSION
Supplies Needed PSP, I'm using PSP X1 but this tutorial should work with any version. Tube of choice. I'm using an image by Olivia. Olivia's work work is licensed, and you can buy a license and tubes at CILM Fractal/Texture of choice. I have supplied one of my own fractals if you wish to use it. Becky Masks 010 and 01 in supplies, Preset Shape of choice I used Crop Bats AOE - V (also available as a font) and Font of choice - I used Miss Lankfort which is a pay font, but any nice script font would look just as good. Filter - DSB Flux - Linear Transmission , Eye Candy 4000 Glass available as a demo from Alienskin.
Open a new image 600x600 pixels at 72dpi resolution. Flood fill white. Add a New Raster Layer, Select All and paste the fractal or texture into the selection. Selections None. Apply the Becky Mask 010 and Merge Group. Gaussian Blur at Radius 2. Go to DSB Flux and apply with the following settings:-
Slice Size and Offset 14, Blend 50, Horizontal ticked. Then repeat with the same settings but tick Vertical. Now apply Becky Mask 01 to this layer and Merge Group. You should now have something like this:-
Now find your preset shape of choice. I'm using Crop Bats AOE - V. Set your foreground to black, background to your texture/fractal, Line width 2, and draw your shape as a vector.. Pull out the nodes to fit your mask :-
Now go to Eye Candy Glass and apply with the Multiple Personalities Setting:-
Add a drop shadow of choice. I used 2,2,40,3 Black and then repeated at -2,-2. Make your Mask Layer active and copy and paste you tube. Resize as necessary and position slightly to the left so that it can be seen through some part of your shape. Change the Mode of this layer to Luminance Legacy, and lower the opacity to around 57 . Now make your shape layer active and paste the tube again, mirror the image and move slightly to the right. Add a blurry drop shadow. You should now have something like this:-
Now using your Ellipse Preset Shape, Line width 2, Foreground black, background nil, draw an ellipse as a vector about the size of your shape. Use the pick tool or deform tool to line the ellipse over the part of the shape you wish your text to fall against. Do not convert to a raster layer.
Now take your text tool, with Foreground Black, Background your texture/fractal, Stroke Width 1 , and hover the tool over the ellipse. When you see the A type your text, then use the nodes to stretch to suit:-
Now go to your layers palette and click on the + sign on your Vector 1 Layer. It will open up to show the text and new ellipse as separate layers. X out the ellipse:-
Now convert the Vector to Raster Layer. X out the background layer, choose your crop tool, then snap crop - merged opaque, making sure that your text is not cut off, and apply. Merge visible layers, then open your background layer again. Resize all layers to your preference, I resized mine by 80%. Sharpen if necessary. Add your name in a font of choice. I use Miss Lankfort for mine. I set my background to white, and the foreground to the same fractal as I used for the tag. Stretch out to suit . then convert to a raster layer. Add a drop shadow of choice. I used 1,1,90,1, Black. Now add your copyright , license number if necessary and taggers mark. Now save your image as a psp image before merging all layers, and saving as a jpeg.
