Rac Rocks My Socks
What you will need for this tutorial:- Paint Shop Pro - (PSP) any version, mine was done in X2 Animation Shop - AS Tube of choice. I am using the awesome work of Ismael Rac. Ismael now sells his tubes independently and you can purchase them from his store.- Filters - Mura Meister Copies Font of choice. - I used Imprint MT Shadow Let's get started. Open a new image 600 x 250 pixels at 72 dpi. Flood fill with white. Copy and paste your tube in the centre of the canvas. Mura Meister Copies - Line Random Rotate:-
Add a gaussian blur at 10 to this layer. Duplicate. On the duplicate layer, go to effects, distortion effects, polar co-ordinates:-
Repeat this effect, then change the blend mode to soft light. Duplicate this layer. Make the original blurred layer active and copy and paste your tube twice. Arrange so that you have a head image on the right hand side, and the guitar part of the tube towards the centre. Arrange so that the head image is on top of the guitar image. Change the blend mode of the guitar layer to Multiply and reduce the opacity to about 70. Change the blend mode of the head layer to Luminance L and reduce opacity to 40. With white as your background colour, foreground nil, draw a narrow rectangle across the canvas , towards the bottom of your tag. Make sure you go right to the edges. When you are happy with it's placement and size, convert to a raster layer. Change the blend mode to Luminance l and reduce the opacity to about 78. Merge all layers visible. You should now have something like this:-
Copy and paste your tube again, and position to the left of your tag. Make sure the tag does not come more than half way across the tag. Drop shadow to suit. Add a new raster layer, selections, select all, modify , contract by 4, invert , flood fill with black. Now add your name, artist copyright, license where required, and taggers mark if used. I added a gradient glow to my name. Now we are ready to animate the tag. Copy the merged background layer and paste as a new animation in AS. Go to effects, insert text effect:-
Choose the Marquee effect from the drop down, type in your text in the Define Text Box,Use the font menu to choose a font that you like, and then click on customise:-
Change the number in the box, so that your text runs across the rectangle you drew on the canvas.. Click OK, on the small box, then OK on the main effect box. You should now have an animation with 10 frames. Back in PSP, close off the background layer, and copy merged the remaining layers. Paste this as a new animation in AS. Ctrl +L 9 times to give you a total of 10 frames. In the background animation click into the first frame and press Ctrl + A to select all frames. Repeat this in the second animation. Now drag and drop and carefully position so that the black border fits snuggle around the edge. Save your tag as a gif.
