Pumpkin Beauty
What you will need to complete this tutorial. Paint Shop Pro - I am working in X2, but this should be achievable in any version. Tube of Choice - I am using a wonderful image by Marco Guaglione. Marco's work is licensed through My PSP Tubes, and you have to buy the tubes to be able to use them . Licenses and tubes may be purchased here Mask WSL _ Mask 109 available from Wee Scotslass Creations Halloween Tubes - I used the cat from the Halloween tubes available from Corel Filters - No outside filters needed . Font of choice - I used a font called Halloween Regular. Open all your supplies in Paint Shop Pro and your fonts on your computer . Let's get started Open a new image 600 x 600 pixels and flood fill with white. add a new raster layer and flood fill with a foreground/background gradient made with two colours from your tube.
Apply your mask to this layer, merge group then duplicate the mask layer. On the original mask layer go to Effects - Textures - Polished Stone :-
Apply this with the High Detail polished settings:-
On the duplicated mask layer change the blend mode to Overlay. Your image should now look something like this :-
Close the background layer and merge visible both mask layers. Duplicate the merged layer. On the bottom merged layer, apply a Gaussian Blur of 10.00, then duplicate this and mirror. Merge the two blurred layers. Go to Effects - Textures - Mosaic Glass and apply with the following settings:-
Reduce the opacity of this layer to about 80. Copy and paste your tube of choice and position to the right of the mask. I positioned mine so that the polished stone effects still show.
Now add a drop shadow to your tube :_
Repeat the drop shadow , changing the Vertical and Horizontal settings to -2. Add some Halloween tubes / accents and place where you think they suit your image. Using a colour to compliment your tube , type out a suitable saying. I've used the witches spell from Macbeth by William Shakespeare. " Eye of Newt and Toe of Frog, Wool of Bat and Tongue of Dog Adder's Fork and Blind-Worm's Sting Lizard's leg and Owlet's Wing For a Charm of Powerful Trouble Like a Hell-Broth Boil and Babble Double Double Toil and Trouble Fire Burn and Caldron Bubble" Don't forget to credit the author of your saying. Place this above your mask layer but below the tube, and angle as necessary.
Add your name, resize to suit your preferences then add the copyright, license number if required, and your taggers mark if used. Save as either a jpeg or png whichever you prefer.
