Moon Witch
What you will need to complete this tutorial. Paint Shop Pro (PSP)- I am working in X2, but this should be achievable in any version. Animation Shop (AS) Tube and Image of Choice - I am using an Image and tube by Tony Mauro.Tony's work is only to be used of your have the appropriate license from AMI, and have bought the Image from them. Mask - Edge Burst (comes with PSP) or one of choice. Doodle of choice. Font - A Lolita Scorned
Let's get started Open a new image 600 x 600 pixels and flood fill with white. Add a new Raster Layer and flood fill with a colour to complement your tube and image. Go to Effects, textures, Blinds and apply as follows:-
Use a colour lighter than your flood fill, but in the same palette. repeat the blinds effect, changing the width to 25, and a yet paler colour. You should now have something like this :-
Apply your mask to this layer. I used the edge burst mask that comes with PSp, but you can use any mask of choice. Resize the mask by 90%. Set your foreground to another colour which compliments your image, and with your preset shape tool set to square, draw out a square about 210 pixels wide. Align this Horizontally in your canvas and position towards the top of your mask . Convert to a raster layer. Now go to Effects, Distortion Effects. Wave and apply with the following settings:-
Duplicate this layer and resize the duplicate by 75% . Free rotate 15% left and position to the bottom left of the mask. Duplicate and mirror.
Close off the two smaller frames for the moment. Using your selection tool, set to rectangle, draw a selection so that the square of the larger frame is selected:-
Copy and paste your image , above the mask layer and position so that the part you want is in the frame. Invert the selection and hit delete to get rid of the excess image. Select none. Change the blend mode of this layer to Luminance (L). Open up one of the smaller frames, and use your freehand selection tool to select the square. Paste your image as a new layer again. It needs to be below the smaller frame, and above the large frame. Invert the selection and delete. Select none. Duplicate this image and mirror so that it sits in the other small frame. Change the blend mode of one of your smaller images to Screen. duplicate this layer if needed.
Add a drop shadow of choice to the frames. Now add a couple of tree type doodles above your mask layer. I used some of the leaf tubes that come with PSP, and changed the blend mode to Burn. Now copy and paste your tube and position centrally on top of the frames. Duplicate this twice so you have a total of three tube layer. Close off the top two layers for the moment. Using your freehand selection tool draw around the area of the tube you wish to animate. I chose the globe in her hands. If it is easier to see , zoom in on the image. Now make the middle tube layer active, go to Adjust , Brightness and Contrast and change the contrast to 20:-
Make the top tube layer active and change the settings so that the contrast is set at 40. Select none. My tube came with two layers, one with leaves one without, for an additional effect I copy and pasted the leaves as an extra layer, duplicated twice and added noise at 30, 40 and 50. Crop off any excess white and resize your tag to your preference. Now add your name in a font of choice. I am using A Lolita Scorned. Apply an Inner Bevel and Drop Shadow of choice. I used the following settings:-
Note I used white for my drop shadow. Add the copyright , license number if required and your taggers mark if used. Now, make sure you have your duplicated layers hidden, with just the original of each open, then right click into the background and copy merged :-
In Animation Shop, right click into the workspace, and Paste as New Animation:-
Back in PSP, close off the bottom layers, and open the middle ones, repeat the copy merged. In AS, right click into the first frame, and choose, Paste after current frame:-
Repeat this with the top layer of your animation, right clicking into the second frame. You should now have three frames in AS. Save your animation as a gif.
