Drakenborg Masked Lady

What you will need for this tutorial:-

Paint Shop Pro - (PSP) any version, mine was done in X2

Animation Shop (AS)

Tube and Image of choice - I am using the awesome work of Camilla Drakenborg . Camilla's work is licensed through CILM and you must purchase tubes from them to be able to use them.

Eye Candy 4000 Glass

Font of Choice - I used Libeled Lady

Let's get started :-

Open a new image 600 x 250 pixels at 72dpi, flood fill with white.

New Raster layer, Selections, Select All.

Copy and paste your image into the selection.

Add a gaussian Blur at 20 then go the Effects, Texture, Grain Long:-

Texture

Now go to Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance, then change the blend mode to hard light.

Now set your foreground colour to a colour from your tube , choose your rectangle preset shape, line width about 4/5 and draw a thin rectangle across the canvas , align center and convert to a raster layer.

Add more rectangles and squares until you have them placed as below:-

shapes

Merge the shapes together, then Effects, Eye Candy 4000 Glass :-

Eye Candy Glass

Using your magic wand , click into the centre rectangle on the upper right, expand this selection by 2. Copy and paste your tube and position so that the part you want shows in the rectangle, invert the selection and hit delete to get rid of any excess tube. Drop this layer under the rectangles and change the blend mode to screen.

Repeat this process with the squares, but make sure you use the same portion of the tube if you want the same effect as my example. Change the blend mode of both these layers to Luminance (L).

Now copy and paste your tube and position to your liking. Add a blurry drop shadow.

Add a new raster layer, selections, select all, contract the selection by 4, invert and fill with the same colour as your rectangles. Add the same glass effect to this border.

Add your name in a font of your liking, I used Libeled Lady. I used the same colour and glass effect on my text.

Now add your artist copyright, license number where required, and taggers mark if used.

Now to animate the tag to finish it off.

Change the opacity of the bottom right tube to 0.

Now right click into the image and copy merged. Paste this as new Animation in AS, this becomes Frame 1.

Back in PSP, reduce the opacity of your upper left image to 66, leave the bottom right at 0. Copy merged, then in AS, right click into Frame 1, and choose paste after current frame.

Reduce the opacity of the upper left to 33, copy merged and paste after Frame 2.

Reduce it again to 0 and paste after Frame 3.

Leave the opacity of the upper left tube at 0, increase the opacity of the bottom right tube to 33.

Copy merged and paste after Frame 4.

Increase the opacity of the bottom right to 66, copy merged and paste after Frame 5.

Increase the opacity of the bottom right to 100 and paste after Frame 6.

You should now have 7 frames in your animation.

Click into Frame 1, Ctrl+A, to select all frames. Right click and change the frame properties to 18.

Now click into Frames 1, 4 and 7 and change the properties to 100

Save your tag as a gif.
