Magnetic Detection

Jensen Magnetic Detection

What you will need for this tutorial.

Paint Shop Pro, I am using X2 but this should be achievable with most versions.

Animation Shop

Tube and close up of choice. I used a wonderful image by Barbara Jensen for which you need license. You can obtain both a license and purchase the tubes

Filters - VM Experimental Magnetic Detection and Needles and Pins.

Mura Meister - Copies

Tramages - Pool Shadow

Font of Choice - I used Libeled Lady

Let's get started

Open a new image 600 x 250 pixels at 72dpi. Flood fill with white.

Open a new raster layer and flood fill with a gradient to compliment your tube. I used the lilac gradient called Landscape that came with my PSP.

Gradient

Apply VM Experimental Magnetic Detection at the default settings:-

Magnetic Detection
New raster layer, flood fill with same gradient , but tick the invert box.

Apply Needles and Pins to this layer:-

Needles and Pins

Change the blend mode of this layer to hard light.

Copy and paste your tube onto the canvas, then apply Mura Meister Copies, set at Wallpaper Rotate:-

copies

Apply a Gaussian Blur of about 10.00 to this layer, and change the blend mode to Screen

Now with your preset tool set to rectangle, foreground nil, back ground a black and white gradient angle and repeat 45,1. draw a thin rectangle across the tag.

rectangle

Position just above the centre of the tag as above screen shot.

Now apply distortion effects, warp as follows:-

warp

Duplicate this layer, mirror, merge both layers together and then colourise to suit your tag/tube. Add a drop shadow to this shape, then duplicate the layer twice to give you three layers. X out the top two layers.

On the original layer apply Tramages Pool Shadow:-

I have mine through Filter Unlimited, and on the other two layers I just hit the Randomize button. If you don't have Filters Unlimited, my settings read, 84,137,44,112,80,24,56, 94 on the middle layer, and 83,113,41,58,3,133,140,119 on the top layer.

Now copy and paste your close up and position to the right of the tag, duplicate and mirror . Set the blend mode to Luminance Legacy and reduce the opacity to about 46 on both layers.
Copy and paste your main tube and position to the centre of the tag. Drop shadow.

Add a new raster layer , select all, modify, select selection borders, width about 8, flood fill with the black and white gradient and colourise as before. Drop shadow.

I used the same gradient and colourisation on my name text.

Add the copyright, license number where necessary and your taggers mark if used.

Now making sure you only have the bottom pool shadow layer open, copy merged and paste as a new animation in animation shop .(AS)

Back to PSP, x out the bottom layer, open the middle one and then copy merged. Right click into your first frame in AS and paste after current frame. Repeat this with the top layer open, adding after frame 2 in AS.

Click into frame 1, Ctrl +A to select all frames, then set the frame properties to 35.

Save as a gif.

For the Avatar , x out all the pool shadow layers, the frame and the name and copyright layers . Crop an area of the remainder you want as the avatar, making sure it measure 150 x150 pixels. Add a new layer, add border frame as before, then add your name or initial, and the copyright information.
