Koufay Love Me Tender

This tutorial is written by me using an image by Gennadiy Koufay .Gennadiy's work is licensed to CILM and you need to purchase a license and tubes to use it. Any similarity to other tutorials is coincidental .

Supplies Needed:-

Paint Shop Pro

Heart Mask of Choice

Scrap Kit - Monti's Valentine Hearts

Tube of choice (A seated position works best).

Filter DSB Flux, Linear Transmission

Font Fiolex Girls

Please remember to save your work often as you go through the tutorial. There is nothing worse than losing everything if your PSP freezes or crashes when you are almost done. Also if you like to rename your layers as you go along, please do so.

OK, open the elements of the scrap kit you wish to use and minimise them, select your font and open it so that it becomes available to use within PSP. Import your brush to the folder you keep your brushes in, and install any of the filters you needed to download. (Remember to restart PSP after installing filters as they will not work otherwise.) Open your image.

So, we are now ready to start. Open a new image 600 x 600 and flood fill white. New Raster Layer, Selections , Select all, Copy and Paste your first paper of choice from the scrap kit into the selection, de-select. Apply your heart mask and merge group. You should now have something like this:-

Masked Paper

Add a drop shadow to your mask layer using the following settings:-

Heart Drop Shadow

Vertical and Horizontal 0, Opacity 66, Blur 1, Colour to match your paper.

Now copy and paste your tube and position on the heart. In my example I left the tube exactly where it pasted. Add a drop shadow of choice to your tube. I used Lokas 3D with the default Flat Faint Shadow on mine. Your tag should now look a bit like this:-

Position Tube

Now copy and paste one of the felt Hearts from the scrap kit. Resize to your liking, add the same drop shadow as you did to your mask layer. Rotate the heart 45 left and position towards the bottom left of your tag.

Felt Heart

Now cut and paste one of the diamond hearts , resize, sharpen and position on the masked heart layer in the upper right corner. Then add one of the bows, resize, sharpen, and add the same drop shadow as previous. Add any other accents of your choice.

Now go back to your mask layer and duplicate it. X out the duplicate and on the original add a gaussian blur of about 20.

Gaussian Blur

Now find your plug-in, dsb flux, linear transmission:-

Find Filter

Apply the filter with the following settings:-

DSB Flux Settings

Slice Size 6, Offset 3, Blend 50, Horizontal checked. Un x the copy mask layer. Your tag should now resemble this:-

Tag with filter

Now add your name using a pretty valentines Font. I used Fiolex Girls with the following settings:-

Font Settings

Size 72 Pixels, Anti Alias Sharp, Stroke Width 1. I used Black as my foreground colour, and the Red from the heart as my background colour. Stretch and angle the text using the nodes, and when happy convert to a raster layer. Add the same drop shadow as you used before.

Now resize your tag to your liking. Sharpen if necessary. Add your copyright layer, license if required and taggers mark.

Save your tag in the psp layers if you wish to make more of these for your friends etc. Then save as jpeg.
