Giada Illusions
What you will need for this tutorial:- Paint Shop Pro - (PSP) any version, mine was done in X2 Animation Shop (AS) Tube of choice - I am using the awesome work of Giada Calo. Giada's work is licensed through Dreamscape Imaging and you must purchase tubes from them to be able to use them. Eye Candy Glass - Optional Font of Choice - I used 911 Porscha Let's get started :-
Open a new image 600 x 250 pixels at 72dpi, flood fill with white. Copy and paste your tube onto the canvas as a new layer. Using the pick tool, stretch the image so that it covers the whole image. (If not using the same tube as mine, you might find it easier to duplicate the tube until the canvas is covered. Add a gaussian blur at 15. Effects, Texture Effects- Sandstone, with the following settings:-
Change the blend mode of this layer to hard light. Using your preset rectangle shape, foreground nil, background white, draw a thin rectangle across the canvas, overlapping at each side:-
Align centre in canvas and then convert to a raster layer. Free rotate this line 30 ° left then duplicate. Arrange the lines as shown below:-
Merge the two line layers together. Effects - Artistic Effects - Enamel:-
Change the blend mode of this layer to Exclusion, then duplicate and mirror. Merge the two layer together. You can add Eye Candy Glass to this layer if you wish. I used it in the header example, using a glass tubing preset, with the glass the same colour as the enamel. With your magic wand, click into the triangle on the right side of your canvas. Promote this selection to a layer:-
Keep selection active and make the background layer active, copy then paste the into the promoted layer. Move this layer below the lines layer and apply Andrews55 , Almodovar Nervous at the settings below:-
You may need to colourise this to a colour from your tube, then change the blend mode to overlay. Selections none. Copy and paste your tube and position to the left of the canvas. You need to have it on the left half of the canvas to give you room to add the Illusion text. Give your tube a blurry drop shadow. This is what you should have now:-
Take your text tool, and type out the word Illusions in Capitals with black as your background colour, foreground nil. Stretch to a size you like, and use the handle to angle the text so that it sits on the line. Change the blend mode to soft light. Duplicate the layer, and lower the opacity to 80. Duplicate again and lower to 60. Repeat this until you have lowered the opacity to 0. Add your name, artist copyright, license number if required and taggers mark if used. Add a new raster layer, selections, select all, select selection borders:-
Now copy and paste your background layer into the selection. We are now ready to animate your tag. With the bottom tube layer open, making sure that you only have the Illusion layer at 1005 open, right click into the image and copy merged. Take this to AS and paste as a new animation. This is your frame 1. Back in PSP, close off the bottom illusion, and open the second one - 80%. Copy merged again, then right click into your frame 1 and paste after current frame. In PSP , close off second, open third illusion layer, copy merged, then right click into frame 2 and paste after current frame. Continue doing this until you have copied the 0 opacity layer into AS. You should have 6 frames in your animation. Click into Frame 1 and then Ctrl + A to select all the frames. Right click and copy. Click into the workspace, and paste as a new animation. Click into Frame 1 of the copied animation and then Ctrl + A to select all the frames. Go to Animation - reverse frames:-
Making sure all the frames in the copy are still selected, right click into frame 6 of your original animation, paste after current frame. You should now have 12 frames in the original animation. You can now delete the copy. Click into frame 1 and press ctrl + A to select all, then right click into the frame and choose frame properties. Change the value to 18, then save your tag as a gif. Click into Frames 1,6,7 and 12 and change the properties of those frames to 25 ,25,25 and 50 respectively. Save your tag as a gif.
