Ghostly Dreams
What you will need for this tutorial:- Paint Shop Pro - (PSP) any version, mine was done in X2 Animation Shop - AS Tube and Image of choice - I am using the awesome work of Rebecca Sinz . Rebecca's work is licensed through Dreamscape Imaging and you must purchase tubes from them to be able to use them. Xero - Moonlight and Porcelain Font of Choice - I used Goosebumps Let's get started :-
Open a new image 600 x 250 pixels at 72dpi, flood fill with white. New Raster Layer, selections, select all. Copy and paste your image into the selection. Add a Gaussian Blur at 20. Go to Adjust - Blur -Motion Blur :-
Duplicate this layer , and on the top layer , go to effects- artistic effects - hot wax , just click on hot was and the effect will automatically apply. Effects- edge effects enhance. Using your preset rectangle shape, foreground nil, background #B3AFB9,or a colour from your tube, draw a narrow rectangle and position to the right of the canvas. When happy with size and position, convert to a Raster Layer. Duplicate the rectangle, resize by 80%. Repeat this a further twice, giving you 4 rectangles in total. Space as evenly as possible down the canvas, keeping the right hand edge level. Merge the 4 layers together and apply a drop shadow. With the rectangle layer active, selections, select all, float, defloat. Copy and paste your tube over the rectangles and position to suit your tube. When happy with the position, invert the selection and hit delete to get rid of excess tube. Apply Xero Moonlight with these settings:-
Then xero - porcelain:-
Duplicate this layer twice, giving you three layers. On the middle one, reduce the opacity to about 55 and rename the layer dream, and on the top one reduce it to about 14 and rename it ghost. Leave the first one at 100 and rename now. Copy and paste your tube again, mirror if necessary and position to the left of the canvas. Give it a blurry drop shadow. Close this off for the moment while you add the text between the rectangles. With your font of choice, and a colour to match your tube, type out, " The Past is a Ghost " Type this as three lines to go between your 4 rectangles. Rename Ghost1. On a new layer type , " The Future is a Dream ", rename Dream 1and on a third layer, " And all we ever have is Now", rename Now1. Add a © to the author Bill Cosby and place this below the bottom rectangle. Close off the top two layers. Re-open your tube. Add you name, the artist copyright, license number where required, and taggers mark if used. Add a new raster layer. Selections, select all, modify , select selection borders, set at 4, inside.
Flood fill with a medium colour from your tube. Add an Inner Bevel:-
We are now ready to animate your tag. Make sure your have the Dream, Dream1. Now and Now1 layers closed. Right click into the image, copy merged. Take this to Animation Shop,AS, and paste as a new Animation. This becomes Frame 1. Back to PSP. Close off the two Ghost Layers, and open both Dream layers. Copy merged, take to AS and right click into Frame 1.Paste after current frame. Back to PSP. Close off the Dream layers, and open the Now layers.
