Crazy For You

Crazy For You

What you will need for this tutorial.

Paint Shop Pro

Tube of choice. I'm using the work of Cane Hoyer which is licensed through MPT. To use his work you need a license which can be purchased, along with the tubes from them.

Template 29 by Beth. Download from Blissfully Beth . Thanks Beth for allowing us to use your templates.

Scrap kit of Choice. I used Schatz by Saskia. This particular kit is exclusive to members of The Zone Groups . You need to join the group to be able to download the kit. Participation in the group is not compulsory, but you will find all sorts of great challenges and information there.

Font of choice. I used Fiolex Girls

Optional Mask - I used becky Mask 23

Let's get started

Open the template and hit Shift +D to make a duplicate of it, and then close the original. Delete the copyright layer. Then close off all the layers except the background and the grey bars.

With your magic wand, start with the top bar, and select alternate bars :-

Select Bars

Now go to Selections, Modify , Expand:-

Select Expand

and expand the selection by 1:-

Expand Selection

Copy and paste one of the scrap papers onto the canvas , then invert the selection and hit delete. Select none. Now select the three remaining bars, and repeat the above using a different paper. You can now delete the grey bars layer. Add a drop shadow to both your bar layers of Vertical and Horizontal 2, Opacity 60, Blur 5, Colour Black:-

drop Shadow Bars

Open the three Rectangle layers. Click into each of them with your magic wand, then copy and paste a third paper above these layers. Invert the selection, then making sure you are on the paper layer, hit delete to get rid of the excess paper. Select none.

Now select the inside of the left hand box . Copy and paste your tube, position and resize as necessary, then invert the selection and delete. Duplicate the tube layer, then mirror it.

Mirror

It should fit nicely into the right hand box. Now change the blend modes of each of the two tubes. I used Overlay on the left hand tube, and hard light on the right. You should now have something like this:-

Blend Modes

Hide all layers except for the two tubes, fill and original rectangles for the three rectangle boxes, and then merge the these layers visible. drop shadow this as you did the bars.

Copy and paste your tube again, and position in the centre of the tag. bring this tube layer to the top of your layers and apply the same drop shadow as you applied to the bars.

Now open the two hearts from the template. Depending on your tube, you might want to reposition these to suit. I moved them out to the top left, and bottom right of my rectangles. Click into the white area of each of the hearts, then copy and paste another paper from your scrap kit. Invert the selection and delete.

Now click into the grey border of each heart and apply an inner bevel :-

Inner Bevel

I used Bevel 2, Width 19, Smoothness 17, Depth 9, Ambience 0, Shininess 15, Colour #AF3750( colour from one of your scrap pares or the tube), Angel 45, Intensity 34, Elevation 64.

Now open up the word art from the template and position as required.

Now you can add any elements and doodles from your kit. You can also add a mask above your background layer if you wish. Hide your background layer and merge all layers visible. Now find your crop tool, and use the snap crop rectangle tool:-

Snap Crop

This will get rid of the excess space around the tag. At this point you might want to resize your tag to suit your preferences. I resized mine by 80& Bicubic, with all layers checked.

Resize

Now add your name in a font of your choice. I used Fiolex Girls, Size 72, Stroke Width 1, with Foreground set to black and background to #AF37350 (The colour I used for the heart inner bevel). I applied the same inner bevel as I did to the hearts, but I changed the colour to white. Drop shadow the same as before.

Now add your copyright and license information as necessary.

Save as either a jpeg, with the background layer, or a png without it as preferred.
