·Adding an Animated Gif to a Single Layer Image ·

Jpeg Image

Have you created a tag as a jpeg or png, and then afterwards decided it would look better with a sparkle, or some sort of animation to give it a little more interest? This tutorial will show you how to add an animation to a single layer image

For this tutorial you will need a non-animated tag , a sparkle of choice, there are many to choose from on Aardvark Animations if you don't have one already, and Animation Shop.

Open both the tag and the animation in Animation Shop. I have used a tag I made a while ago using the artwork of Jennifer Janesko, www.janesko.com . Jennifer's artwork and tubes are licensed through CILM and licenses and tubes may be purchased from CILM

Framed Animation

From the screen shot of my animated stars, you can see that there are 16 frames. I now need to duplicate my jpeg image to have the same number of frames. You will need the number of frames in your chosen animation.

There are two ways of duplicating your image. The quick way is to click inside the frame, then press CTRL + L for the number of extra frames you need, in my case it was 15.

Alternatively, right click into the frame and click on Duplicate Selected:-

Duplicate Selected

Repeat this until you have the required number of frames.

Now click in the first frame of the image you've just duplicate and press CTRL + A, this will select all the frames. Do the same for the animated gif:-

Select All Frames

You will see that each frame now has a blue box around it. Now you can drag and drop the animation from the first frame into your first frame:-

Pasted Animation

Go to View Animation and you will see that the animation has been pasted into each frame. If you wish to repeat the animation again, click onto the empty animation box, then go to undo:-

Undo Drag

All your frames will reappear, and you can drag it again into a place on your image. When you are happy with your image, optimize your image then save as a gif:-
